It has a black rubber tyre with a ribbed tread on a black polypropylene centre running on a ball journal bearing, and a rigid zinc-plated pressed steel bracket with a 140 x 115mm top plate that bolts straight to the underside of your equipment. Each castor is rated to 200kg and stands 240mm tall. It suits the fixed end of workshop and tool trolleys, warehouse and stockroom trolleys, machine and equipment stands, and workbenches.
Why it works
Black rubber tyre – quiet, grippy and hard-wearing
The black rubber tyre (hardness A85) absorbs small bumps, grips well and runs far more quietly than a hard nylon or steel wheel. It copes with temperatures from -20°C to +80°C. Black rubber can leave dark marks on pale or polished floors, so for hospitals, shops and clean areas choose the grey or blue non-marking versions instead.
Ball journal bearing for easier rolling
The wheel runs on a ball journal bearing rather than a plain bore, so it takes less effort to start and keep moving under load, and it wears more evenly over time.
Fixed bracket for straight-line tracking
A fixed castor does not swivel, so it keeps a trolley running straight and stops the back end drifting. Fitting two fixed castors at one end and two swivel castors at the other gives a trolley that tracks straight but still steers easily. The 140 x 115mm plate has four 10mm holes on 105 x 75/80mm centres and suits M10 bolts.

Where it's used
The fixed end of workshop and tool trolleys, warehouse, stockroom and garage trolleys, machine and equipment stands, and workbenches. Best on concrete, sealed concrete, resin and other hard floors where occasional tyre marks are not a concern.
Choosing the right option
Choose black rubber, as here, for quiet, grippy running on workshop and warehouse floors; choose grey or blue non-marking rubber where floor appearance matters, and polyurethane for heavier industrial loads. Check you have a flat area at least 140 x 115mm under each corner for the plate. For a trolley, pair two of these fixed castors with two 200mm black rubber swivel castors, or the 200mm black rubber total lock castors if it must stay put; all three share the same 240mm height, so the trolley sits level. For the load, add up the weight of the item and everything on it and divide by three rather than four, because on an uneven floor one castor is often lifted; if the answer is over 200kg, choose a heavy-duty castor.
Installation, use and care
Hold the plate flat against the base and fix it through all four holes with M10 bolts and nuts. Fixings are not included. Line both fixed castors up with the direction of travel so the trolley runs true. Check the fixings after the first few weeks, keep the wheel clear of threads and debris, and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Keep the rubber tyre away from oils and solvents, which can soften rubber.
Frequently asked questions
Will the black wheel mark my floor?
Black rubber can leave dark marks on pale or polished floors, especially when turning under load. For those floors, choose the grey or blue non-marking versions.
Does this castor swivel?
No. It is a fixed castor that only rolls forwards and backwards. Use it with swivel castors at the other end so the trolley can still be steered.
What size bolts do I need?
The plate holes are 10mm, so use M10 bolts and nuts. Fixings are not supplied.
What is the load capacity?
Each castor is rated to 200kg. A set of four is rated to 600kg, because the load is calculated on three castors to allow for uneven floors.
