Description
Product Overview
This 100mm swivel braked castor wheel combines a grey rubber tyre bonded to a polypropylene centre with a pressed steel, zinc-plated swivel head and a 4-hole top plate. Designed for trolleys, mobile workstations, shelving units, display fixtures, and light industrial equipment, it delivers smooth, quiet rolling across hard and semi-hard floor surfaces while the integrated foot-operated brake locks the wheel firmly in place when stationary — providing both mobility and controlled stability in demanding environments.
Key Features
Typical Applications
- Warehouse & Distribution: Keeps picking trolleys and platform trucks rolling freely across concrete and resin floors, with the brake preventing drift during loading.
- Retail & Shop Fitting: Enables display units and gondola shelving to be repositioned quickly during floor resets, then locked securely in place.
- Hospitality & Catering: Suited to service trolleys and mobile catering equipment where quiet operation and floor protection are priorities.
- Light Manufacturing: Supports mobile workbenches, component trolleys, and assembly aids in production environments with moderate load requirements.
- Office & Facilities: Ideal for mobile storage units, filing cabinets on wheels, and AV equipment trolleys in commercial interiors.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum weight this castor can support?
Each individual castor is rated to carry up to 80 kg. When fitting a set of four castors to a single piece of equipment, the combined maximum load capacity is 240 kg. It is good practice to allow a safety margin and avoid operating consistently at the maximum rated load.
Will the grey rubber wheel mark or damage my floor?
The grey rubber tyre is a non-marking compound, making it suitable for use on polished concrete, vinyl, laminate, ceramic tile, and similar hard floor surfaces without leaving scuff marks or residue. It also provides a degree of vibration absorption, reducing noise during movement.
How does the brake work, and how do I engage it?
The castor features a foot-operated brake lever positioned at the base of the swivel housing. Pressing the lever down with your foot locks the wheel, preventing the castor from rolling. Lifting the lever releases the brake and restores full movement. The brake acts on the wheel only — it does not lock the swivel rotation.
How do I fit this castor to my equipment?
The castor uses a 4-hole top plate measuring 60 mm x 60 mm, with fixing hole centres of 48 mm and 38 mm and a hole diameter of 6 mm. It bolts directly onto any flat surface with matching hole positions using standard M6 bolts (not supplied). Ensure the mounting surface is flat, structurally sound, and capable of supporting the intended load before fitting.
Engineered for reliability across warehousing, retail, hospitality, and light industrial settings — this castor delivers the combination of smooth mobility and secure braking that professional applications demand. Sold individually; order the quantity required for your project.
