What is the difference between a fixed castor and a swivel castor?
A fixed castor holds the wheel in a single, non-rotating direction — the wheel can only roll forwards and backwards in a straight line. A swivel castor has a rotating head that allows the wheel to turn 360 degrees, enabling multi-directional movement. Fixed castors are typically used in combination with swivel castors on the same piece of equipment: the fixed units provide directional stability while the swivel units allow steering.
Will this castor protect my floors from scratches or marks?

The zinc-plated pressed steel plate measures 60mm (length) x 67mm (width), with bolt hole centres of 48mm / 38mm on both axes and a hole diameter of 6mm. To fit, align the plate over your mounting surface, mark and drill four 6mm holes at the correct centres, then secure with appropriate bolts (not supplied). Always ensure the mounting surface is structurally sound and capable of supporting the intended load.
How many castors do I need, and what is the total load they can support?
Each castor in this range is rated to 80kg individually. When four castors are fitted to a single piece of equipment, the combined maximum load capacity is 240kg — not 320kg — as a safety margin is applied to account for uneven load distribution across the four mounting points. For equipment that will regularly carry loads close to the maximum, we recommend selecting a castor with a higher individual load rating to maintain a safe working margin.
