It has a black rubber tyre with a ribbed tread on a black polypropylene centre running on a roller bearing, a zinc-plated pressed steel housing and a 105 x 85mm top plate that bolts straight to the underside of your equipment. Each castor is rated to 100kg and stands 155mm tall. It suits workshop and tool trolleys, machine and equipment stands, warehouse and stockroom trolleys, and workbenches.
Why it works
Black rubber tyre – quiet, grippy and hard-wearing
The black rubber tyre (hardness A85) absorbs small bumps, grips well and runs far more quietly than a hard nylon or steel wheel. It copes with temperatures from -20°C to +80°C. Black rubber can leave dark marks on pale or polished floors, so for hospitals, shops and clean areas choose the grey or blue non-marking versions instead.
Roller bearing for easier rolling
The wheel runs on a roller bearing rather than a plain bore, so it takes less effort to start and keep moving under load, and it wears more evenly over time.
Free swivel, top plate fixing
The swivel head turns a full 360 degrees so the castor follows the direction you push. The 105 x 85mm plate has four 8mm holes on 80 x 60mm centres and suits M8 bolts.

Where it's used
Workshop and tool trolleys, machine and equipment stands, warehouse, stockroom and garage trolleys, and workbenches. Best on concrete, sealed concrete, resin and other hard floors where occasional tyre marks are not a concern.
Choosing the right option
Choose black rubber, as here, for quiet, grippy running on workshop and warehouse floors; choose grey or blue non-marking rubber where floor appearance matters, and polyurethane for heavier industrial loads. Check you have a flat area at least 105 x 85mm under each corner for the plate. This castor has no brake: most equipment has braked castors on two corners and plain swivel castors like this one on the other two. The matching 125mm black rubber castor with a total lock brake has the same plate and stands 154.5mm tall, so a mixed set sits level. For the load, add up the weight of the item and everything on it and divide by three rather than four, because on an uneven floor one castor is often lifted; if the answer is over 100kg, choose a larger wheel. Allow 103mm of swivel clearance around each castor.
Installation, use and care
Hold the plate flat against the base and fix it through all four holes with M8 bolts and nuts. Fixings are not included. Check the fixings after the first few weeks, keep the wheel clear of threads and debris, and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Keep the rubber tyre away from oils and solvents, which can soften rubber.
Frequently asked questions
Will the black wheel mark my floor?
Black rubber can leave dark marks on pale or polished floors, especially when turning under load. For those floors, choose the grey or blue non-marking versions.
What size bolts do I need?
The plate holes are 8mm, so use M8 bolts and nuts. Fixings are not supplied.
What is the load capacity?
Each castor is rated to 100kg. A set of four is rated to 300kg, because the load is calculated on three castors to allow for uneven floors.
Is there a braked version?
Yes. The same 125mm castor is available with a total lock brake that locks both the wheel and the swivel head, with the same plate and a practically identical height (154.5mm).
