Rubber castors cushion the load, absorb vibration and run quietly, and they grip well on smooth floors. They cope better than hard wheels with thresholds, cracks and uneven or outdoor surfaces.
Rubber takes more effort to push than nylon under heavy loads, and oils and solvents shorten tyre life. For very heavy loads over rough ground look at super-elastic rubber in our heavy duty castors. Wheels only are in industrial rubber wheels.
