When you need a light-duty castor that rolls easily, turns tightly and fixes to a flat base with ordinary screws or bolts, this is a sound choice. It is a 75mm twin wheel swivel castor with a 60 x 60mm top plate, a zinc-plated pressed steel housing and two black polypropylene wheels. Each castor is rated to 90kg and stands 100mm tall. It suits shop fitters, furniture and cabinet makers, and anyone adding wheels to trolleys, display units or storage that has a flat underside to fix to.
Why it works
Two wheels instead of one
Each of the two 22mm-wide wheels turns independently as the castor swivels, so there is less scrubbing than with a single wide wheel. The castor changes direction more easily and is kinder to the floor. The overall width across both wheels is 51mm, giving a stable footprint.
Top plate fixing
The square 60 x 60mm plate has four slotted holes set on 48mm and 37mm centres, so it lines up with more than one bolt pattern. The holes are 6mm and suit M6 bolts or screws, fixed straight into a flat timber, board or steel base.
Polypropylene wheels, zinc-plated housing
Polypropylene is light, hard wearing and does not absorb water, so it copes with indoor floors that are regularly mopped. Zinc plating protects the steel housing against corrosion in normal indoor conditions.

Where it's used
Mobile storage cabinets and pedestals, retail display units and shop fittings, light workshop and stock trolleys, equipment stands and furniture that needs moving for cleaning. Best on smooth, hard indoor floors such as vinyl, tiles, sealed concrete and laminate.
Choosing the right option
Check three things before you order. First, the fixing: you need a flat area at least 60 x 60mm under each corner. If your equipment has tube legs with threaded inserts instead, a bolt hole or threaded stem castor is easier to fit. Second, the load: add up the weight of the item and everything it will carry, then divide by three rather than four, because on an uneven floor one castor is often off the ground. If the answer is over 90kg, choose a larger castor. Third, the floor: hard polypropylene wheels roll easily but are firmer and noisier than rubber, so for quiet running or delicate floors choose a rubber or polyurethane wheel. This castor has no brake; where equipment must stay put, fit braked castors on at least two corners.
Installation, use and care
Hold the plate flat against the base and fix it through all four slotted holes with M6 bolts and nuts, or suitable screws into solid timber. Fixings are not included. Check they are tight after the first few weeks, keep the wheels clear of threads and debris, and wipe them with a damp cloth. Avoid dragging equipment sideways over steps or thresholds, as shock loads can damage the wheels.
