Load check
How we work it out: on a real floor one castor is often carrying little or nothing, so we share the weight across one fewer castor than you fit (with 3 castors, across all 3). Tick the box to add a 30% margin for rough use.
Floors & use
Rubber tread
- Cushions the load and soaks up vibration
- Quiet on most surfaces
- Copes with uneven floors, thresholds and outdoor use
- Good grip on smooth floors
- Takes more effort to push than nylon under heavy loads
- Oils and solvents shorten tyre life
Details & FAQs
Light Duty Twin Wheel Castors
This 75mm twin wheel braked swivel castor combines quiet grey rubber wheels, a foot-operated total lock brake and a neat single M10 bolt hole fixing. It fits straight into a tube leg or threaded insert, runs smoothly and gently over hard floors, and locks both the wheels and the swivel head when you need equipment to stay put. Rated to 90kg per castor with a 100mm height and zinc-plated pressed steel housing, it suits catering tables, laboratory and healthcare trolleys, hotel housekeeping trolleys, display units and tube-framed furniture.
If you are looking for a 75mm braked bolt hole castor, an M10 total lock twin wheel castor with grey rubber tyres, quiet locking castors for tube legs or replacement braked castors for trolleys and tables, this design offers floor-friendly rolling with secure parking.
Why Choose This Castor
- ✓ Grey rubber tyres on polypropylene centres run quietly and are kind to vinyl, tiles, laminate and sealed wood.
- ✓ Total lock foot brake locks the wheels and the swivel head together, so the castor can neither roll nor spin.
- ✓ Single M10 bolt hole for a tidy fixing under tube legs, with no top plate sticking out.
- ✓ Twin wheel design lets the two wheels turn independently for lighter steering and less floor wear.
- ✓ 90kg per castor, 270kg for a set of four.
* Set load is calculated on three castors carrying the weight, to allow for uneven floors. Allow 98mm clearance for the swivel. Fixing bolt not included.
Where It Works Best
Ideal for stainless steel catering and prep tables, laboratory and healthcare trolleys, hotel housekeeping and serving trolleys, mobile workbenches, shop display units, school and office furniture and any equipment on tube legs that must move quietly and then stay firmly in place. It runs best on smooth indoor floors such as vinyl, tiles, laminate, sealed wood and sealed concrete.
Tube Adaptors Also Available
Fitting this castor to a round or square tube leg? Matching tube adaptors are also available. Choose the size that fits the inside of your tube and buy it together with your castors.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does total lock mean?
The foot brake locks both the wheels and the swivel head, so the castor can neither roll nor spin round. Press the grey pedal down to lock and lift it to release.
What size bolt do I need?
An M10 bolt or M10 threaded insert. The length depends on your leg or insert. For open tube legs, use a matching round or square tube adaptor. Bolts are not supplied.
Will grey rubber wheels mark my floor?
Grey rubber is less likely to leave dark marks than black rubber and runs quietly on hard floors. Keep the wheels clean to avoid carrying grit across delicate surfaces.
What is the load capacity of this braked castor?
Each castor is rated to 90kg. A set of four is rated to 270kg, because the load is calculated on three castors to allow for uneven floors.
Should I fit brakes on every corner?
Most equipment needs braked castors on two corners and plain swivel castors on the other two. For tables that must not move at all, fit braked castors on every corner.
