Load check
How we work it out: on a real floor one castor is often carrying little or nothing, so we share the weight across one fewer castor than you fit (with 3 castors, across all 3). Tick the box to add a 30% margin for rough use.

Details & FAQs
For light trolleys, carts, display units and furniture that need a clean, quiet, all-grey castor fitted by a single bolt, this 100mm swivel bolt hole castor is a tidy, economical choice. It has a one-piece light grey moulded plastic swivel housing with a single offset arm, a dark grey thermoplastic rubber (TPR) tyre on a light grey plastic centre, and a round head with one 13mm bolt hole in the middle, so it fixes to a tube leg or frame with one bolt rather than a four-hole plate. Each castor is rated to 80kg and stands 137mm tall.
Why it works
Thermoplastic rubber tyre – quiet and floor-friendly
Thermoplastic rubber is a soft, grippy tyre compound (hardness Shore A87) that runs quietly, absorbs small bumps and is kind to hard floors. The grey tyre is far less likely to leave the dark scuff marks that black rubber can on vinyl and light-coloured floors.
All-plastic housing – clean, rust-free and lightweight
The swivel housing and wheel centre are moulded plastic rather than zinc-plated steel, so there is no plating to chip or rust. The smooth, single-arm design is easy to wipe clean, which suits hospitals, clinics, kitchens and shop floors, and it looks neat on furniture and display units where a steel fork would look industrial.
Single bolt hole fixing
Instead of a top plate, the castor has a round head with one 13mm hole through the centre. It bolts straight into a threaded insert, tube end or drilled frame with a single M12 bolt, which is ideal where there is no flat area for a plate.
- Dark grey thermoplastic rubber tyre, quiet running
- Light grey one-piece plastic swivel housing, rust-free
- Single 13mm bolt hole fixing, suits M12 bolts
- 80kg per castor, 240kg for a set of four
- 137mm total height, 86mm swivel radius
Where it's used
Medical and clinic trolleys, laboratory carts, catering and cleaning trolleys, shop display units, office and school furniture, and light equipment stands. Best suited to smooth indoor floors such as vinyl, tiles, laminate, sealed wood and sealed concrete, in normal room temperatures.
Choosing the right option
Choose this castor where a single bolt fixing, a clean all-grey look and quiet running matter more than heavy load capacity. The plain bore bearing keeps cost down and is fine for light to moderate use; for loads that are pushed a long way every day, a castor with a roller or ball bearing will roll more easily. For the load, add up the weight of the item and everything on it and divide by three rather than four, because on an uneven floor one castor is often lifted; if the answer is over 80kg, choose a larger or heavier-duty castor. This castor has no brake, so where the equipment must stay put, fit a braked castor of the same 137mm height on two corners. Allow 86mm of swivel clearance around each castor. The working temperature range is -10°C to +40°C, so it is not suitable for ovens, freezers or washers.
Installation, use and care
Pass an M12 bolt through the hole in the castor head and tighten it into a threaded insert, tube end or nut on your frame; use a washer under the bolt head. Fixings are not included. Check the bolt is tight after the first few weeks, keep the wheel clear of threads and hair, and wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid strong solvents, which can damage plastic and TPR.
Frequently asked questions
What size bolt do I need?
The bolt hole is 13mm, which suits an M12 bolt. Fixings are not supplied.
Will the grey wheel mark my floor?
The grey thermoplastic rubber tyre is much less likely to leave dark marks than black rubber and runs quietly on hard floors. Keep it clean to avoid carrying grit.
Is the housing metal?
No. The swivel housing and wheel centre are moulded plastic, so they are lightweight and will not rust.
What is the load capacity?
Each castor is rated to 80kg. A set of four is rated to 240kg, because the load is calculated on three castors to allow for uneven floors.
