200mm Fixed Top Plate Castor – Blue Non-Marking Rubber, Roller Bearing, 400kg

For trolleys and equipment that must run straight, move quietly and leave no marks on clean floors, this 200mm fixed castor is the largest wheel in this blue non-marking range and the easiest to push under heavy loads. It has a blue non-marking elastic rubber tyre on a black polypropylene centre running on a roller bearing, and a rigid zinc-plated pressed steel bracket with a 140 x 115mm top plate that bolts straight to the underside of your equipment. Each castor is rated to 400kg and stands 240mm tall. It suits hospital and laboratory trolleys, catering equipment, retail and warehouse trolleys, and anywhere floors must be kept clean and unmarked.

Blue non-marking elastic rubber tyre

The blue elastic rubber tyre is designed not to leave marks on floors, so it is widely used on hospital, laboratory, retail and food-area floors. The tread (hardness A70) absorbs bumps, grips well and runs quietly, and it copes with temperatures from -20°C to +80°C.

Roller bearing for easier rolling

The wheel runs on a roller bearing rather than a plain bore, so it takes less effort to start and keep moving under load, and it wears more evenly over time.

Fixed bracket for straight-line tracking

A fixed castor does not swivel, so it keeps a trolley running straight and stops the back end drifting. Fitting two fixed castors at one end and two swivel castors at the other gives a trolley that tracks straight but still steers easily. The 140 x 115mm plate has four 10mm holes on 105 x 75/80mm centres and suits M10 bolts.

Where it's used

The rear or fixed end of hospital, care home and laboratory trolleys, catering and food-preparation equipment, retail display and stock trolleys, clean-room carts and warehouse and distribution trolleys. Suited to vinyl, tiles, sealed concrete, resin and other hard indoor floors where marking is not acceptable.

Choosing the right option

Choose blue non-marking rubber, as here, where floors must stay clean and quiet running matters; grey rubber is a lighter-duty alternative, and polyurethane suits heavier loads. Check you have a flat area at least 140 x 115mm under each corner for the plate. For a trolley, pair two of these fixed castors with two 200mm blue non-marking swivel castors, or swivel castors with a total lock brake if it must stay put; they share the same 240mm height, so the trolley sits level. For the load, add up the weight of the item and everything on it and divide by three rather than four, because on an uneven floor one castor is often lifted; if the answer is over 400kg, choose a heavy-duty castor.

Installation, use and care

Hold the plate flat against the base and fix it through all four holes with M10 bolts and nuts. Fixings are not included. Line both fixed castors up with the direction of travel so the trolley runs true. Check the fixings after the first few weeks, keep the wheel clear of threads and debris, and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Keep the rubber tyre away from oils and solvents, which can soften rubber.

Will the blue wheel mark my floor?
No. The blue elastic rubber tyre is a non-marking compound, chosen for hospital, laboratory and retail floors where marks are not acceptable.

Does this castor swivel?
No. It is a fixed castor that only rolls forwards and backwards. Use it with swivel castors at the other end so the trolley can still be steered.
